Welcome to Fallbrook: City Overview
In the 1700s, the Payomkawichum people or Luiseños, settled in the village we call Fallbrook. It was not actually until Canadian immigrant, Vital Reche, settled there in 1869 that it was renamed Fallbrook, after his former home in Pennsylvania. While the original Fallbrook School closed in 1939, today it serves the local community as the Reche Clubhouse. The rural town features rolling hills, great golf courses, and a country style life only hours from major urban California cities.
Main Street in Fallbrook is lined with historical wooden-buildings that are home to today's local businesses and restaurants. From art galleries to boutiques, there is something for everyone to enjoy. Experience the beautiful outdoors of Fallbrook with a picnic in Live Oak Park, a walk through the Los Jilgueros Preserve, or a bike ride around the Santa Margarita River Preserve.
